Yoga Classes and Teacher Schedule

Wednesday 6:30 - 8:00pm 

Saturday 7:00 - 9:00am

Sunday 8:00 - 10:00 am

 

All classes are held at Reading Hindu Temple 

 

Please ensure that you arrive on an empty stomach. A central benefit of Yoga is that it conditions the core – your back, chest and abdominal muscles. All the twisting, and bending, while it will create stronger muscles and greater flexibility, will squeeze and wring out your internal organs. When the stomach and intestinal tract are full this can be an uncomfortable experience. Avoid eating 2 hours before class. Remember to stay hydrated before, during and after your class.

 

Wear loose fitting clothing that will allow freedom of movement. As you will notice, classes are centred toward developing a relationship with the self, be patient with yourself and allow you experience to deepen over time.

 

Bringing a Yoga mat is advisable as the floor can be hard! We have a few spare mats for new attendees.

 

Keep an open mind! If this is your first experience of Yoga it may well be contrary to your expectations. Yoga is akin to a philosophy; to assess its merits one must first encounter it in its totality. Allow yourself to be taken on a journey of inner exploration, it’s completely safe but if you don’t feel like taking part in certain aspects of the class that is fine too.

 

What if I have a medical condition, injury or I am pregnant? Classes are not currently geared toward pregnancy Yoga. Make sure you let your instructor know of any medical conditions.

 

Level of Yoga experience: Classes are for practitioners of all levels. Instructors will give options for modified poses for beginners or those that feel that they do not have the strength, flexibility or balance to perform certain movements. Yoga is not about ambition or outward achievement. Flexibility and strength will come over time and diligent practice, the central point is connecting with your breath and the experience that this generates.
